Larry Malkus is a Baltimore playwright, actor, director, and teacher of improv (short and long form) and sketch comedy. He received his B.F.A. from Brooklyn College, C.U.N.Y. and has been active in Baltimore's theater community since his teens. He was a founding member of The Flying Tongues, a storied local improvslashcomedy group that toured regionally and nationally in 1995. Larry is also an experienced stage combat  teacher and choreographer (SAFD certified unarmed combatant).

Malkus' full-length play, Heinie Goochems, was produced by Fells Point Corner Theatre in Baltimore, Maryland in 2014. A shorter piece, Two AJ’s in the Tomb Room, was produced as part of Scribimus – a Stevenson University production. As part of their annual Variations Project, Rapid Lemon Productions has produced four of Larry’s ten-minute plays: Walter’s Claw Hammer, D. S. Magic, A Holiday for Us, and Toes for Sale (2015, 2017, 2021, 2023 respectively). Quarry Theatre used two of his monologues in their devised production, The Red Shoes Soul Stories at the Baltimore Theatre Project. Larry was a co-writer and deviser for the collaborative musical TRY, which received its first staged reading at the Fells Point Corner Theatre in 2025.
